Frank’s Sunny Italy Hosts Traditional St. Joseph Table to Benefit Catholic Charities of Buffalo

The Frank Sclafani family, owners of Frank’s Sunny Italy restaurant in North Buffalo, will host its three-generation annual St. Joseph Table and asks only a free will contribution to take part in the feast; there is no other charge. All are invited to the traditional meal, celebrated on the Feast of St. Joseph, which will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 at the restaurant, 2491 Delaware Ave.

The restaurant has designated Catholic Charities of Buffalo as the recipient of all of the contributions this year.

Each year, the Sclafanis choose a local charity to benefit.

The St. Joseph Table is an Italian (more specifically Sicilian) event celebrating the principal Feast Day of St. Joseph, spouse of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The Sclafani family donates the food for the meal, their family and employees volunteer their time to prepare and serve the meal. Catholic Charities’ staff also will be on hand to greet and thank participants.

The patio features six tables surrounded by colorful planters and offers the same menu offered to diners who choose to dine indoors. South Buffalo Alive, a nonprofit organization involved in the preservation and beautification of the neighborhood, provided planters and landscaping assistance.
