Buffalo, NY - The city is hoping to get more illegal guns off the streets with its annual Gun BuyBack program.

This year's event takes place on Saturday, August 18th.

Pre-paid credit cards are being offered to people who turn in guns as follows;

$10 for non-working or antique guns                                             $50 for rifles and shotguns                                                             $75 for handguns                                                                        $100 for assault weapons

The following locations will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Jordan River Missionary Baptist Church                                           440 Leroy Avenue

St. John Baptist Church                                                                184 Goodell Street

Church of the Good Shepherd                                                          96 Jewett Parkway

Assembly of Christian Churches                                                     213 Ontario Street

St. Thomas Aquinas Church                                                          450 Abbott Road

Primera United Methodist Church                                                    62 Virginia Street

Prince of Peace Christian Church                                                   190 Albany Street

Since 2005, the city has removed over 8,000 illegal guns from the streets. 3,000 have been removed through this "no questions asked" buyback.
